Adjustment

On August 9th, I started a short term,  full time position with United Way as a Community Speaker.  Essentially, we go out on the campaign trail with  Account Managers and CAM’s to various companies and tell the stories of real people being helped by programs funded by the UW.  Great, huh?  We are talking right in line with my future goals around working with/in public policy, lobbying and or advocacy for the common good of our community.  The other layer of icing is that the UW offices are downtown.

The hiccup in the system is that  its been well over ten years since I’ve experience all of the things that take place when working in an office.  I’m just not sure if I’ll ever not be tired again.  My hope is for a pattern to fall into place and eventually not  feel like dying at the end of the day.

I’m thankful for this opportunity as it is sending me in my ultimate direction, adjustment period and all.
