Della,

Given your gentle, fierce spirit of the possible; it is no fluke to me that you would see “Unnatural Causes,” and then choose to speak up and out about what isn’t okay and what’s possible.

When any of us dare to recognize the levels of blessing we hold in the world, even to acknowledge our levels of privilege, however small compared to those who struggle daily to just live, we can decide to do like you, do something to engage and inform other. That’s when we’ll truly move faster forward to create a better space for all of us.

I’m glad to know you and to see you continue to set an example of what we each can do.

Della,
Thank you for showing us the importance of following your heart’s desire, no matter how big or small of a task it requires of us. When we pay attention to that still, small voice, our world enlarges and lives are impacted for the better. Your event is on my calendar. Keep honoring – and blogging about – your journey!! Love ya!

This event is a great idea. For decades both political parties have ignored the needs of the poor. Wars and corporate welfare are the only priorities of Washington. The poor have been made invisible and now the middle class is shrinking while great wealth & power is concentrated in a tiny percent of low taxed billionaires who control the press and political campaigns. Few people are aware that the US has a higher child mortality rate than 15 other countries…even Cuba. We are the only industrialized country without national health care as a right. Our life expectancy has fallen behind many countries in Europe as well as Asian countries such as Japan and Singapore. Environmental and infrastructure deterioration are everywhere. Every effort should be made to make people aware that redirection of resources from endless, futile wars and corporate bailouts to help our own people is the priority.
